Project "Finish This Stuff" Update, part 45 - August 2015

Hi!

Man, is time flying lately!  I just got done doing some quick cleaning to get caught up from the weekend - yay!  I finally went through all of my loose recipes and put the bulk of them away - that took me hours to do.  I also made yet another bread pudding to use some things up.  So while I was mindlessly cleaning up the dishes, I decided to do another Project "Finish This Stuff" update since the trash is going out tonight.

Let's get started with hair and some skin care.
Ion Daily Solutions Dry Shampoo - purchased from Sally's Beauty Supply.  I really liked this dry shampoo.  It worked well at absorbing the oils and making my hair smell fresher, all while not leaving a white cast that couldn't easily be brushed away.  The price was good and I was able to get nearly everything in the can out (there's another brand from Sally's that I can never get it all out).  Would consider repurchasing.
Paul Mitchell Color Protect Locking Spray, travel size - given to me by my Mom.  I didn't notice anything super amazing about this color-lockng spray.  I actually don't experience a ton of color-fade, despite coloring my hair red.  I have a couple of similar drugstore products that I'll use up in place of this, especially during the summer.  Won't purchase.
Mario Badescu Skin Care Buffering Lotion - purchased from Ulta.  This is a product that I always keep on hand.  While it's marketed for the deep cystic acne, I use it on any area I've got any type of breakout.  I think it does help to shrink down the cystic spots and dry out smaller whiteheads.  I have already repurchased and will continue to repurchase - it's Holy Grail!
Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner - purchased from Walmart.  I typically use this toner during the summer months when I'm on the more oily side to help keep my pores cleaned out.  I'm not sure that it actually "visibly reduces the appearance of pores" but I do like it.  This does contain AHA and BHA to help exfoliate and hopefully help keep old acne marks/hyper-pigmentation from getting darker.  Have repurchased and will continue to repurchase.

Moving on to more skin care, and toothpaste.
E.L.F. Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths - purchased from Walmart.  As I mentioned in my last update, I enjoyed these but haven't yet repurchased.  I do plan on repurchasing soon.  I believe these are $3 for 20, making them fairly inexpensive.
Cleansing & Makeup Remover Towelette with Vitamin E - hotel courtesy.  It worked well, but not much to say since these are only available to hotels.  Can't purchase.
Lancome Genifique Eye, deluxe sample - gift with purchase.  I really enjoyed using the Genifique Eye.  There wasn't much, if any, scent (!) and I did not experience any clogged pores/milia like I do with some undereye creams.  I didn't notice any difference in the darkness of my under eye circles, but for just moisture in the area it was nice.  Haven't decided if I'll purchase or not (I think I have one more of these).
Crest 3D White Luxe Glamourous White toothpaste - purchased from Walmart.  I've already decided that I'm done buying Crest toothpastes (except for possibly travel size).  I didn't notice any extra whitening with this.  Won't repurchase - I've moved on to Arm & Hammer.
Equate Antibiotic Cream + Pain Relief - purchased from Walmart.  What can I say about antibiotic cream?  I nearly always purchase the cream version.  I had a large size scrape (deck of cards size) so I went through a lot of cream.  Will repurchase (either store brand or name brand).
Neosporin Pain Relief Cream (2) - purchased from Walmart/Giant Eagle.  I told you, I needed a lot of the cream.  I do use little dots of this on my face if I have an acne spot that started bleeding for whatever reason.  Will repurchase (either store brand or name brand).
E.L.F. $1 Eyelid Primer - purchased.  I like this primer, but I do feel like sometimes my eyelids get irritated from the wand if I use this day after day for several days in a row.  I don't experience creasing in my eye shadows, so it does its job.  I might repurchase but I have a huge backlog of eye primers.
E.L.F. High Definition Undereye Setting Powder - purchased from Walmart.  I go through a ton of these powders.  I don't experience under-eye creasing in my concealers when I set with this and it doesn't leave my skin looking dried out from product.  I have noticed that some of these have a little sparkle, some have a lot, and some have none.  When the sparkle is present, I just take extra time buffing out the powder to blend away as much as possible any sparkle.  Will repurchase - it's Holy Grail!
Lancome Waterproof Concealer - requested sample.  This wasn't too bad, but I do hesitate to purchase any Lancome "base" (foundations/concealers) since I have experienced some acne breakouts when trying the 24-hour liquid foundation.  Probably won't purchase.

And to wrap things up for today, I have one lonely "Trashed But Not Finished" product.
EOS SPF 15 Lip Balm in Lemon Drop - purchased from Rite Aid.  This was a decent SPF balm, but it wasn't convenient to carry around for reapplying.  It smelled good, but I don't feel it did much for the condition of my lips.  Won't repurchase - I've moved on to the Jack Black brand.

August wasn't a super productive month in regards to finishing products, but I probably wasn't going very many places either.  If I'm not going out, I don't wear makeup so I don't go through product.    Oh, well.  Some is better than none - I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

Do you have a favorite lip balm with SPF that's also easy to carry with you?
