Today I've got a little "mini" haul to share, although the price wasn't that mini. Isn't that what always happens when you order from Sephora? Anyway, today's haul was what I ordered recently with the e-gift card the Mister gave me for my birthday last month. I have lots of things on my "Loves" list so it took me a while to decide. I ultimately decided to order a limited edition item, and at the same time another item from the same brand popped up on sale (more than 50% off), which was what pushed me to make my order now rather than wait to see if any of the kits I was interested in would go on clearance.
To see a bit of my reasoning behind the brand I chose to explore with this order, let's travel back in time to December (right before my actual birthday but before the Mister gave me the gift card). I placed an order on Sephora's site knowing that I would not be able to take my usual birthday drive to an actual Sephora store. I had ordered the Make Up For Ever Studio Case, bought on sale, with Beauty Insider discount (out of stock, and since it was limited edition it won't be back); I also got my Make Up For Ever birthday gift and the Sephora Sample Bag. The other thing I decided to order to get my free shipping was the Sephora Favorites Summerstash which included a mini Nars bronzer.
I picked up the Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Demon Lover, currently on sale for $15 (was $35). This little sale was what finally triggered my purchase. I figured what better time to try out Nars eyeshadows? Although they aren't the dual intensity formula so... maybe someday I'll try that formula.
My swatches are built up slightly, I dipped back into the pans 2 times to get the pigmentation you see in my swatches. The blue shade is metallic while the dark purple is matte.
And the big ticket item for this haul, the Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette.
The blushes are just slightly under full size each and the bronzer is actually more than a regular full size bronzing powder. The bronzing powder retails for $38 and the blushes are $30 each. While this is a pricey purchase for one time, it's actually an amazing deal.

I also picked the Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion/laser fx serum duo, the Tom Ford Velvet Orchid parfum spray and the Make Up For Ever HD Blush (cream) samples from the choices available.
As I was putting this post together, I realized that each of the last 2 times I've ordered Sephora had large sample bags available. I did like December's sample bag a touch better since it came with a nice (really cute) reusable makeup bag and this month's looks like a fancy ziplock bag. But between these 2 bags I've got loads of new cleansers, masks and moisturizers (last month) to try. This month's bag has 3 brands of cleansers that I have never heard of before, but it'll be a while before I get to any of these since I'm working on finishing currently open deluxe samples of various cleansers.
Have you ever tried anything from Nars? Any makeup brand you are just getting into?
