I've got another Influenster Frosty VoxBox product to review today! I'm sharing my opinion on the Rimmel Just Let It Go...Gentle Eye Makeup Remover.
According to the product card, this "gently removes all eye makeup, including long-lasting and waterproof makeup, with no oily residue." It retails for around $7.50. It claims to be suitable for sensitive eyes & contact lens wearers. I do have sensitive eyes, and yes the product itself didn't irritate my eyes but... well, just keep reading.
Honestly, I felt that this did not remove all my eye makeup and I don't even wear waterproof makeup. My eyelids felt tacky for a few minutes, unless I immediately washed my face to get the remover's "residue" off. Said residue isn't oily, it's just tacky. My eyes weren't irritated by the remover, but they weren't particularly happy with how long I had to keep going at them trying to get my mascara and liner off. My one good point for this remover is that there's absolutely no scent to it to irritate my eyes while taking forever to attempt to actually remove makeup.
I tend to saturate a cotton pad and hold it over my eye for 15-20 seconds with other brands. With the Rimmel, however, I would be standing with my eye covered for nearly a minute (each). Then I would start lightly applying pressure/rubbing to get the liner and mascara off. With the Rimmel, I took another minute on each eye. But even after spending a couple minutes on each eye, I still had mascara in my lashes the next day. I had been using a Rimmel mascara (one I bought myself) for most of this testing phase; on me, the newer-to-market Rimmel mascaras I've used so far do tend to be on the stubborn side for removal. But I found this to be true even with a new mascara from another brand that I just opened the other day that results in "natural" lashes. So even removal of a light weight mascara was beyond this product's abilities.
So, would I purchase the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover from Rimmel? No I would not. There are removers I like better, both cheaper as well as department store range. I can't even say that the price is good since I feel it's too high for how it performs, as well as how much product you get (4.2 fl. oz.).
Have you tried the Rimnel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover? What's your favorite remover?
