Lancome Tendre Voyage Travel Exclusive Palette

Hi!
**purchased

As I mentioned yesterday, the Mister purchased a palette for me while we were traveling over the New Year's holiday.  We made a break for Niagara Falls on the Canadian side on New Year's Eve and about froze while walking around site-seeing some.  We did do a few things - the Upside Down house, the Skywheel, short stop in a casino, etc. using the stops as a way to warm up and get out of the super strong and freezing wind.  On our way back to the U.S. on January 1st, we stopped in the duty-free shop.  I found a couple of things I wanted while the Mister went a little nuts with the candies and various liquors.
So this is something that I probably won't say often, but let's take a look at what I got in the Duty-Free Shop!
Lancome Tendre Voyage make-up palette - travel exclusive
and a cute brown/pink hat that doesn't overly scream souvenir
Close up of the back of the palette, I'm just not sure which eye shadow is which... I wonder if the local counter would have an idea
Love that it came with a velvety pouch!
~~the above picture is the most color-accurate~~
All the swatches are corresponding to their placement in the palette (the light pink gloss is in the square).  The eye shadows are one swipe each; it didn't take much effort to get enough on my fingers for the swatch.  The matte blush did take a few swipes to build it up to show like it does in the picture but I think it'll be pretty blended out on my cheeks.  The lipstick and lip gloss...I could have done without...but oh, well.  I tried the lipstick on my lips last night, it takes a bunch of passes to get even a touch of color to show up on my well-pigmented lips.  The light "pink" gloss is sparkly, but that's about it.

This does have the typical Lancome rose scent, but it's much stronger, I think, than other Lancome eyeshadow palettes and blushes in my stash.  I'm not sure which product it's coming from.  I'm actually debating leaving this open in my drawer for a bit to see if that helps reduce the scent.  Hopefully the scent doesn't bother my eyes when I go to use this palette on my eyes; I'll just have to be sure my eyes aren't being sensitive that day.  The bottom left eye shadow is a pretty taupe that I think would make a pretty one-shadow look.

Have you ever done any shopping in a duty-free store?  What did you find?  Did you do anything fun for New Year's?

  1. I've shopped in a duty free shop on a cruise before...my mom treated me to a Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume for my birthday, I forget how much it was but I know for the size it was a pretty good deal :) I laughed when you said your husband was into the cheap alcohol Bc on the ship they had what I thought where really good prices too, I don't drink but everyone was buying it up...my dad was ready to do backflips for the ciggarette prices though lol I believe they were all priced at around $50 for two cartons and they retail in the States for like $65 each. As far as makeup goes I think they mostly has brands owned by loreal...and I didn't think they had any real kind of deals, I do remember that they had like a loreal mascara and eyeliner pack for like $20 and I almost laughed! I guess those where for the people that didn't think to pack ;)
Anyways I'm glad to see you back :)

    1. Hi Ashley! I'm so happy to be back! I'd love to hear more about your cruise as the Mister is considering booking us on one sometime this year.

I wasn't familiar enough with any of the other brands - all prestige brands and mostly skincare - to risk trying something brand new. I looked at the perfumes but I have so many that I don't wear often enough as it is. I figured that this was a decent price and have used their eyeshadows enough to know I don't have issues with them. :-)
