I've got day 14 of the #31dc2014 to share today, which is floral nails. I didn't do a super floral design, more of a doodle-flower like I used to draw all over everything way back when I was in school. I used a bunch of polishes and a couple different sizes of dotting tools.
The PolishAholic's collection post. I picked out polishes from my stash that looked like they would be similar to other shades from the collection since I'm doing my best to only purchase the unique shades rather than every shade that catches my eye. But if I happen to see some of the Nordic shades on clearance at some point, then I'll probably add them to my stash since OPI wears so well on me compared to other brands.
Once the base polishes were dry, I went in with a large dotting tool and OPI If You Moust You Moust (Vintage Minnie Mouse collection) to make the flowers, some of which I offset from my nails. Then I added a dot of SinfulColors Sin-ammon for the centers of my flowers. Once that dried for probably 10 minutes I sealed it all in with a coat of top coat and after a few minutes added a coat of Gelous over the sparkly nails.

I've actually had this post ready to go for nearly a week, but before I was able to do any final editing we had major connection issues so our internet was down for several days before our provider finally had the idea that the modem was going bad. Now we're all fixed up again so I'm hoping that I'll be able to finish up the 31 Day Challenge this month - I'm currently just before the halfway mark. Now if my nails would stop breaking I'd be all set. It might help if I didn't have so much Fall yard work taunting me...
How would you paint flowers on your nails - stamp, abstract, realistic, cartoon-y?
