I'm back at the #31dc2014! It took me a bit to figure out an animal print I wanted to do and how to actually accomplish it. Lately whatever I've put on my nails has been on for a couple of days so it's taking me longer to do all the prompts and on top of that, I've still been having a hard time getting up to my main computer to edit pictures due to a very naughty puppy.
So day 13 of the challenge is Animal Print, which is something I've never attempted. My version ended up being inspired by the various spots on our younger cat, Tomo. You can check out one of his pictures here. His fur provided me plenty of inspiration since he is a pure-bred Bengal cat with a strong pattern; as he's gotten older, the base color of his coat has literally started "glistening" (his breeder's term). His coat is a mix of spots and stripes and if you look at him long enough, you start seeing distinguishable shapes.
I started off with 2 coats of China Glaze Fast Track (Hunger Games collection) and once that was dry, dabbed on a bit of Sally Hansen Golden Conduct (Magnetic) using a piece of plastic bag. I think this concoction matched his base color pretty well.
Then I used a dotting tool and Zoya Louise to make the dots and stripes.
I've already done day 14, Flowers, and am getting ready to edit the pictures for that prompt. In real life, I'm brainstorming for the "Delicate Print" prompt. Yay for being nearly halfway through the challenge!
