Zoya Micky, Dressed Up

I thought today I'd share a nail look I did recently.  I was craving bright colors along with sparkles to cheer me up and this mani worked perfectly!  I did forget to take pictures as the mani was progressing so we're jumping straight to the finished look.

I did 2 coats of Zoya Micky over a base coat.  I don't believe I used top coat at this stage.

Zoya Micky is from the Summer 2013 Stunning collection.  It's a nice bright medium pink creme polish.  I didn't think it was too thick or too thin and, as usual, I love Zoya's brush.  It dried pretty quickly.

Micky by Zoya can be best described as a full-coverage, amazing coral cream.

Family - Pink
Finish - Cream
Intensity - 5 ( 1 = Sheer - 5 = Opaque )
Tone - Cool, Warm
Then I did some free-handing with diagonal color-blocking using 2 coats of China Glaze Angel Wings - you could definitely use some tape if your hands aren't super steady.
China Glaze Angel Wings is from the 2012 Holiday Joy collection.  I just recently found it at TJ Maxx.  It's a yellow-gold scattered holo polish that is more sheer than I thought it would be.  I think this could work as one thin coat over another polish for a topper or it could be built up in 3-4 coats.  It did dry pretty quickly.

My original plan was to also add a dot of Angel Wings on each nail, but it was so sheer that I ended up pulling out OPI When Monkeys Fly! and pulled out a single gold glitter for each nail (a few of the other glitters escaped onto my nails).  I did use top coat after everything had set for a couple minutes, mostly just to seal down the large glitters.
OPI When Monkeys Fly! is a large metallic gold hex glitters with smaller holo glitters in a clear base.  When this originally came out in the Oz the Great and Powerful collection, a good portion of all the bottles people were reviewing/purchasing had curled gold glitters so I passed on it.  Well, when I found it on clearance at Ulta months later, the glitters didn't look curled at all so I picked it up.  I think I did read that people who have used that glitter recently noticed that the glitters have flattened back out.  If you really like this glitter, it has been re-released in the Spotlight on Glitter collection under the name "I Reached My Gold."

I loved the way this looked!  I even got some compliments on it.  It was just what I needed to see on my nails to brighten up my mood.  I really didn't want to take this off, but I needed to since the corners were starting to lift off/chip.  Since we were going zip-lining the next day I needed my nails to be well protected with a fresh application of polish.

What colors do you reach for when you need some cheering up?  Do you pile on the glitter as well?
