Project "Finish This Stuff," part 30 - March 2014

Hi!
**all items purchased by me/
received as requested samples

I missed Sunday and Monday due to my grandmother's funeral and visiting with family that were in from out of state to attend the funeral.  But I really need to get refocused on the blog so I'm kicking the month off with my Project "Finish This Stuff" update for the month of March.  I didn't get a whole lot finished, but I'm happy with the progress I did make.  I really wish I could say that I finished more than I bought, but I can't (and yes, I did fail at my goal of no beauty purchases, other than my planned Nordstrom haul, for the last couple of weeks of March.  As usual, I've included mini reviews and whether or not I'll be purchasing/repurchasing the products.  Side note - I can't believe that I just typed "part 30" in the title!  I've really been consciously working through products for a long time.

I actually finished quite a bit of skincare items between full-size and samples, so I'll get started with that.
Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital Night Cream (sample from Dillards).  This is a very thick cream that does feel nice.  But, it also has a somewhat strong rose scent which makes it not my favorite.  I do have a larger sample size jar that came my gift with purchase from my last Lancome purchase from Macy's, but this is a cream I wouldn't go out and purchase.  I ended up finishing this sample by using it on my neck.  Won't purchase.
Elizabeth Arden Peel & Reveal Revitalizing Treatment - bought old packaging jar from TJ Maxx.  For the last month or so, every Friday night I would use this and I did feel like this has really been helping my skin texture lately.  I've decided that since I did think it was helping a good bit, I will repurchase (I actually have it as a pre-sale for the upcoming gift with purchase from Elizabeth Arden at Dillards).
Murad Clarifying Wipes for blemish-prone skin - sample from Sephora.  This surprisingly took the majority of my face makeup off when I was feeling super sleepy/lazy one night - I did use my eye-makeup remover on my eyes first.  It didn't leave my skin feeling tight, dry, sticky or otherwise irritated.  I might purchase for extra-sleepy/lazy nights &/or traveling.  I just looked to see if Ulta carries them, and they do - $18 for 30.
Kiehl's Clearly Corrective White Deep Moisture Clarifying Cream - sample from Nordstrom's Kiehl's counter.  I got a bunch of uses out of this as a little goes a long way.  I really liked the way my skin felt after using this since it absorbed quickly and didn't leave a sticky feeling, plus it worked well with their toner.  I'm hoping that with continued use I'll see some of the claims come true.  Already purchased.
Kiehl's Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion - 4 sample jars from Nordstrom's Kiehl's counter.  I really enjoyed using these samples and felt that it has helped reduce the number of breakouts I've been having and helping ones I do get go away quicker, especially small whiteheads.  This does dry down to a somewhat tight feeling everywhere you apply it (I've been using a q-tip and putting it just where needed rather than all over in order to make the samples last until able to purchase), but it works well with the Clarifying Cream so my skin feels comfortable with it on.  Already purchased and am looking forward to seeing how clear my skin gets with continued use.
Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel, Pore Perfecting Toner - purchased from Walmart or Rite Aid.  I've kept a bottle of witch hazel on my counter for years at this point.  I like that it's multi-purpose; it can be used as a toner, after plucking, soothes shaving irritation, soothes sunburns/bug bites, etc.  I've read a lot of people don't care for the scent of witch hazel, but I don't mind it - actually, I like the scent.  I don't find it to be drying either and a bottle lasts for a very long time.  Already repurchased (just a different brand).
Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel, Oil Controlling Astringent formula - purchased from Walgreens.  I didn't notice much of a difference between this and the Pore Perfecting Toner other than the higher price tag for a smaller bottle.  Won't repurchase.
Clinique Comforting Cream Cleanser - purchased from Dillards.  This is what I've been using as a makeup remover for the face.  I don't find it to be drying, even when my skin was super dry at the start of the year, nor have I noticed it causing breakouts from being very creamy.  I've been using this since the middle of December on every day that I wear makeup and just finished it yesterday so a tube lasts a very long time.  I use about a dime's size amount and that's just the right amount for getting everything off.  I do follow up with a regular cleanser after this since I want to be sure to get all my makeup off so it won't cause any issues (and my cleansers are geared towards acne-prone/damaged skin).  Already repurchased (during Clinique's gift with purchase event at Dillards).

For my last empties for the month, I have a few miscellaneous items:
Aveeno Living Color Color Preserving Shine Glaze - purchased from Target a long time ago.  I'm not sure how much of a difference this makes in shininess for my hair.  I do like that it helps my hair feel softer since I use it after conditioner. Maybe if I used it more often I would have seen a better result.  I did like it enough to purchase the stock that Target had on clearance over a year ago so I have several backups.  But when I finally get through the backups, I won't be repurchasing since I'm not sure the benefits of it are noticeable enough to be in the shower that much longer.  I'm not even sure if this product is still available or not.
Crest 3D White Luxe toothpaste - purchased from Walmart.  This is my go-to brand of toothpaste, and I always look for the one that promises the most whitening benefits.  I wish I could find something that whitened more, but with how much coffee and tea I drink I'm happy that my teeth are staying about the same color.  Already repurchased (might be a different formula depending on what the store had).
Bath & Body Works body lotion in Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin - travel size mini either free with coupon or free with purchase.  I'm happy I finally finished this bottle.  I got tired of the scent fairly quickly; maybe if I had stuck with it more in the Fall I wouldn't have tired of the scent as much as I did.  Won't repurchase.

It was definitely nice finishing products that have been in the cabinet for a while, as well as discovering new loves from Kiehl's.  This was the first time in a very long time that I'd actually finished a full-size skin mask.  I'm not sure how many products I'll have time to finish during April since I've been finishing a lot of full-size items since the start of the year, but I might surprise myself.

Have you finished anything lately?  Did you like it enough to consider repurchasing it? or were you happy to see it gone?
