Orly Shockwave

**all items purchased by me

I thought I'd do a nail post today, although it's not following my original plan of sharing texture polishes on Thursdays (I don't have any ready to go and the Mister high-jacked the camera).  Oh well.  I'll just share a simple creme polish for today.

This is Orly's Shockwave.  At this point, I don't remember how many coats and what base and top coats I used, if any.  I feel like I didn't use a base coat since I can see some of the texture of my actual nail.
Orly Shockwave is from the Fall 2012 Electronica collection.  I didn't buy this one originally, but when I saw it in the clearance bin at Sally's, I grabbed it.  Shockwave is a nice medium royal blue creme polish.  I did notice that it shows all my little flaws on my nails so for this one I do need a ridge-filling base coat.  I also noticed that in some of my pictures of this I could see a little bit of my nail line, but nothing super noticeable.
While not a super original color, I don't believe I really have much of this color in my collection.  Maybe something similar would be from Sinful Colors or Revlon's Royal from the Top Speed line (not sure if that one's still available).  I think it will be a nice base for a lot of the glitter toppers in my collection.

Do you have any shades like this in your collection?  Do you prefer more saturated/jewel-toned polishes or do you prefer the lighter pastels?
