Ever have a day where the polishes just did not cooperate with you?  Yeah, that's been me today.  And if you're curious, I'm also having a very bad hair day (luckily tomorrow it'll all be better since I'm due for a cut/color appointment) and I haven't really felt like eating either (other than a very late breakfast).

It started off with the polish I applied Wednesday night, a new Revlon one.  Less than 18 hours later, half the nails on one hand were horribly chipped.  Moving on to Thursday evening.  I applied one polish I knew I liked then decided to use a new, untried, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear glitter for some sparkle.  Huge formula fail in the glitter - too much clear base, not enough glitter so my nails ended up super thick, the first polish wrinkled under the glitter and it never dried...even with quick dry top coat.  Next try with yet another polish.  2 kinda watery coats, while thin, didn't look horrible.  I went down to the kitchen planning on adding a third layer when I got home.  In the kitchen I looked down and it looked like my nails were stained with sparkley motor oil.  Back upstairs to take that off.  Before leaving, I ended up with just a good layer of hand cream on my bare nails.  Maybe part of my problem is that I don't really want to wear a darker polish, but other colors aren't really quite right for me either.  Maybe it was the weather tease of almost 60 one day then snowing the next...

That's way too many tries for a simple manicure.  For today's post, I thought I'd pull out another older mani that's kind of appropriate - colorwise - for how my day's gone.  A nice dark, almost black, purple creme.
This is 2 coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Bewitched over a coat of ridge-filler.  My notes don't indicate whether I used a top coat or not.  My pictures are from that one of those long-missed days of sun from last year - September to be more precise.
This dried darker on the nails than it looks in the bottle.  Also, this was limited edition.

Did you ever have a bad polishing day?  How did you get past the polishing block?
