Rimmel London ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara - Influenster Product Review

**all items received free from Influenster for review

Time to review the makeup item I received in my Influenster Rose VoxBox.  I was super excited to see the Rimmel ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara in my box.  I'm always looking for a great mascara (and after my last couple of fails, I was ready for something good).  While I'm open to trying pretty much all brands of mascara, I've never actually tried any from Rimmel London.  To get started, a quick note about my natural lashes - they are already fairly long to start with and have a slight natural curl (but a lash curler does nothing for them).

From Influenster's site:
The 60s are back in full swing with a thicker, fuller, wide-eyed look!
  • A wide-eyed false lash look
  • Fanned out volume
  • No clumps
  • Lashes up, out and over the top
In short terms - I love this mascara!  Out of all the drugstore mascaras I've used, this is my new fave!  I get nice thickness without being clumpy - they actually look fanned out some.  I get lots of length - my lashes touch my eyebrows (of course, your results may very depending on your own natural lash length).  When I take my time and do two slow coats, it ends up looking like I have on false lashes - especially if I go in and really spread/fan them out with the end of the brush.  It's good and black, no flaking or smudging on me.
I only have 2 tiny little notes on this - nothing bad, just something I noticed.  It is a tad bit stubborn to remove, but I've been testing a new eye makeup remover lately so that could be why I was running into some removal issues.  The other thing is that if your eye is watering a bit, leaving you with damp lashes, the mascara has a hard time sticking and drying down.  Since I normally don't have watery/allergy eyes this isn't something that's going to deter me in using Rimmel ScandalEyes, just something to note.
As far as the brush is concerned, it is large.  The bristle portion is a bit over an inch long, and it's pretty big around (but not quite as big as some).  There are a couple other mascaras that have an hourglass shaped wand like this one, but I haven't used either so I can't say if they are all the same/similar size.  I have fairly large eyes so I didn't have a problem with the size of the brush being to large for me to easily apply.  I actually find it pretty easy to get to all of my lashes - all the way to the inner corner, and with a careful hand I can also apply on my lower lashes without a mess.  The bristles are more of a traditional material rather than the rubber that quite a few mascaras come with now.  Once done applying, you know you've got the tube closed all the way since it has a little "click" feeling so it's not left slightly open.

So will I purchase/repurchase this mascara?  You better believe I will!  It's beat out my 2 favorite drug store mascaras and has claimed the number 1 spot!  I've already seen this in one of the new product displays at CVS, but I'm sure it will be appearing at other retailers soon.  For Rimmel's full product line, visit their site here.

Have you tried Rimmel London ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara?  What's your favorite drugstore mascara?
