Project "Finish This Stuff," part 25 - October 2013

**all items purchased by me/received as requested samples

Another month has quickly flew by and now it's time to once again prove that I really do use up products.  I've got quite a few skincare trial sizes, and I also brought back the category of "trashed but not finished."  As usual, I've included reviews on all the products that I was able to use enough to make an opinions of.

First up, skin care:
~These 3 items are all from one Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buster Kit
Beta Hydroxy Acid 2% Acne Wash -  I went to repurchase in a full size bottle, but Ulta was out so I ended up purchasing the Glycolic Acid 3% Facial Wash.
Blemish Buffing Beadsalready repurchased in full size bottle.
AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gelalready repurchased in full size bottle.
~~I need to do reviews on all of the products that I received in the purchased kit at some point in the future.  But since I've already hauled full size bottles of the above (or a close partner to one), then it's pretty safe to say that as of now, I really like and enjoy using this line and am seeing results enough to warrant purchases.  I just hope I'm not "jinxing" myself by saying that...~~

Sample body lotions (instead of Bath & Body Works this month):
Eucerin Plus Smoothing Essentials Fast Absorbing Lotion - sample from dermatologist's office.  It did absorb quickly while leaving no greasy feel on my legs.  However, this sample was only good for 2 nights of application just from my knees down.  That makes me think that a full size bottle will go too quickly.  I do have other lotions I like just as well so won't purchase.
Lord & Mayfair Hydrating Lotion with Apricot Kernel Oil - hotel courtesy trial. This lotion was pretty crappy.  It was thin/runny and didn't leave my legs feeling moisturized for long.  Wouldn't purchase even if I knew where to get it.
Hand & Body Lotion - hotel courtesy trial packet.  This lotion was better than the Lord & Mayfair one, but it still wasn't an impressive lotion.  Once again, wouldn't purchase even if I knew where to get it.

Hair and Hair Removal:
Pantene Detangler for Fine Hair, Anti-Breakage formula - bought from Walmart.  I will be starting my last backup.  The next hair-washing after I finished this I had not opened my backup bottle yet and did not notice a difference between when I do and do not use this detangler.  I'll finish what I have, but I probably won't repurchase.
Rite Aid Renewal 5 Blade Razor for Women - bought from Rite Aid.  Check here for my full review.  Will continue to repurchase.

Crest 3D White Luxe Enamel Renewal toothpaste - bought from Walmart.  This is pretty much the only toothpaste I use.  I always want whitening to attempt to alleviate coffee and tea stains (or at least keep them from getting so dark) and I like that this one helps keep the enamel safe.  Will continue to repurchase - especially if I see it in a double pack.
Biore Pore Minimizing Refining Exfoliator - I believe I bought this from either Walmart or Rite Aid. I didn't notice that much difference when using on my face, other than I had a hard time ensuring I had it all rinsed off.  I ended up finishing the tube by using it as a leg exfoliator.  This product feels like you're rubbing somewhat sharp wet sand on your skin. Won't repurchase.
Dial White Tea & Vitamin E Antibacterial hand soap - bought from Walmart.  This bubbles enough, doesn't strip any moisture from my hands, and is antibacterial.  I mainly use it for my hands but have also been using it some for a few quick makeup brush washes here and there.  I also like that the scent is super light.  Already repurchased, and will probably continue to do so.

And for the "Trashed But Not Finished" category:
Benzoyl Peroxide Gel 2.5% - prescription.  This actually expired last year but I was continuing to do small spot applications.  One time I did experience an unusual irritation from it (only the one time), but I was feeling like my skin wasn't responding to this product at all anymore.  Won't repurchase (and have moved away from benzoyl peroxide in general as a spot treatment).
Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller - bought from Walmart.  Didn't notice any benefit from using this.  Maybe I didn't notice benefits since I rarely have puffy eyes.  And when I got to thinking about it, this item is probably 2-3 years old.  Clearly I didn't like it since I kept not using it.  Won't repurchase.
Neosporin Lip Therapy Daily Hydration Therapy with Sunscreen SPF 30 - bought from Walmart.  I didn't like the way this looked once applied from the first application - it left a very milky finish, but also had some grit to it...maybe that was the sunscreen?  Anyway, a week or so ago I opened it thinking to try it again but it had separated in the tube.  Knowing that it's on the older side and has sunscreen, I figured it was better to trash it.  Won't repurchase.
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer (shade Light) - bought from Walmart/Walmart exclusive.  At first I liked this concealer, but then I kept having issues with it separating so I'd have to try shaking it or massaging it back together.  Eventually it got to where I would just squeeze the oily part into the trash can then apply the color product.  But after some time, I noticed it wasn't covering anymore like I wanted it to.  Then I also noticed that it smelled different than when I first purchased it, so it went into the "finishes" bag.  Won't repurchase...I've found a concealer I like better.

See anything you have used?  Do you like any of the products I've finished?  Have you finished anything lately?
