Pretty in Plum Prism

Hi!
**all items purchased by me

I was deciding what I wanted to post for today last night and I decided it was time to do the next ABC letter (so then why did I edit pictures for a different post?)  But when I got moving today I sat down and edited the correct set of pictures for today.
This is 2 coats of Nicole by OPI Pretty in Plum from the Selena Gomez collection.  Of course, I used a ridge-filler base coat and I believe I topped it with Out the Door.
I actually hadn't had this polish for very long before it got incorporated into the challenge.  I picked this up in a duo pack in the middle of September and it was on my nails early in October.  This is a pretty magenta purple that surprisingly went pretty well with my skin tone.  There is some shimmer to it to make it more interesting than just a creme polish.  I'm not sure why I didn't purchase this closer to when it first came out (maybe I thought I had something close to it...), but I'm happy it's in my collection now.

And I just had to make it more interesting with some more glitter!  I picked out China Glaze Prism and free-handed on deep chevron tips.  This was either one thick coat or 2 thinner ones (since it's been just over a month since I did this the details are a bit fuzzy).  I believe I added topcoat a day or 2 later so these particular pictures are without.
China Glaze Prism is from the Spring 2012 Prismatic Chroma Glitters.  I got mine on clearance from Sally's Beauty a while after the release.  This is a pretty duo-chrome-y fine glitter with some larger colored hex glitters.  If you wanted, you could probably build this up to be pretty opaque on it's own, but I'm more of a layering girl for my glitters.  Scrangie has really good swatches and descriptions of the entire collection (including China Glaze's descriptions).
I ended up really liking this combination and I remember being sad when it started chipping off.  I just looked through my file folders and it looks like I wore this for 3-4 days before it had to come off.  I probably washed a huge sink full of dishes or something and that always dooms my manis.

Even though I told myself to take it easy on the spending for a few weeks, I'm really wanting to go to Michaels and see if they have any more of those "melmer" drawers in...and I kind of want to go to Ulta and pick up those 2 mini Lorac palettes.  I've also got a couple of non-beauty/non-girly things that I'm thinking about looking for.

How do you wear glitter polishes?  As a full mani on its own (either with or without "undies"), accent nails, some kind of design/art?
