The Vitamin Shoppe Garcinia Cambogia - Influenster Product Review

Hi!

It's time I sort out my thoughts on the Garcinia Cambogia product I received from Influenster in my last voxbox.

This bottle is the Vitamin Shoppe's brand and retails for $16.99 (90 capsules in a bottle).  You are supposed to take 2 pills a half-hour before a meal.  How long the bottle lasts depends on how many meals you pair it with.  One dose a day means the bottle would last about 3 months.
I have kind of mixed feelings about this.  Some meals I definitely felt fuller quicker, while other times I felt uncomfortably full.  I think that part of it is the waiting time between taking the pills and actually eating since I normally don't even think about eating until I'm already pretty hungry.  Waiting another 30 minutes just intensifies the hunger sensation, which can lead to over-eating (so can eating too quickly, which I'm guilty of sometimes).  There is no taste or after-taste of these pills.  I do like that these are natural, with no funky chemicals to worry about.

While taking these pills I did manage to lose a couple of pounds, but almost immediately after stopping them one of those lost pounds found me again.  Maybe it was just the timing since it was "that time of the month" where I have more intense cravings than normal.  That worries me that this is just a temporary effect that if you want to enjoy the benefits long-term, you have to take the pills long term.  I do have a Vitamin Shoppe fairly close to where I live, so if I want to see results after more than one bottle (from the same brand) I'd be able to easily purchase it - I do consider ease of finding it in store a positive.

In one of the tweets from Influenster regarding this product, it is also supposedly "boosts your serotonin levels for all-around good vibes."  I do think that while I was taking these pills I was generally in a better mood.  That could be a reason to get another bottle in and of itself since if I'm in a better mood, I'm less likely to emotionally eat.

From Influenster's site:
Check out one of the weight management product that has been all the buzz lately. Garcinia Cambogia is a fruit native Southeast Asia, India and West Africa. You can buy this item online and in your local Vitamin Shoppe store.

So, would I purchase this product?  I do believe I will purchase a second bottle, especially for the upcoming holiday season.  I'm curious to see how this works in the long-run.  And now that I'm thinking about it, Garcinia Cambogia has been on my list of "to try" products for quite a while before I received this.
