Today has quickly gotten away from me. I think a big part of why that's happened is that it's getting dark by 6:30-6:45 already so it really makes the day seem short. So the best thing to post in this case is a collective haul from one store. As you'll see, I've spent quite a bit of time - and money - at Ulta over the past month. Mostly for replacement bottles of skincare...and one new makeup pretty.
The first thing I actually already posted on Instagram a month ago, but I figured that since I got it close to the end of September, I might as well include it so you can see how many of the items from the kit I purchased in September I'm replacing.
Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buffing Beads
The next week, I wanted to get a "pretty" so I bought my first Too Faced product - the Pretty Rebel palette. I'm glad I bought it when I did since the next visit they were gone. I'd seen this a fair bit on YouTube as well as some blog posts on it, plus playing with it in person made me really want it.
I love how the palette itself has a touch of 3D to it's design
Isn't it pretty?!
I love the little eye chart booklet that was included (especially since lately I feel like I've been doing the same boring look over & over)
Week number 3...back to skincare.
Peter Thomas Roth AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel
Last week I bought this one:
Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid 3% Facial Wash
~I haven't used this one exactly - the one that came in the kit I had purchased was Beta Hydroxy Acid 2% Acne Wash, which the store was conveniently out of. But so far, so good with this one...~
And finally, just this week I bought this:
Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense Lotion, SPF 30
~This is the one product from the line that I didn't use up a sample of prior to buying, but the employee/esthetician recommended this one (and uses it himself)~
~he also recommended to essentially go down to just one brand/line of products since they are designed to work together (using various brands may cancel out the effects of each other)~
~the SPF lotion I used all summer isn't really working well for me anymore~
I'm a bit scared to add up how much I've spent on skincare over the last month, but at least the bottles are larger sizes so they should last for a while. I'm really realizing that I really need to make both the monetary and time investment in my skin if I ever want to see it clear up...especially since prescriptions from the dermatologist either stop working (if the even did work to start with) or are too cost-prohibitive to repurchase... I'm thisclose to cancelling my December derm. appointment, especially if this line continues to work for me.
Do you invest in your skincare, or are you lucky enough that drugstore options work for you? Do you have the Pretty Rebel palette? If so, what are your favorite combinations? If you need to repurchase several pricier items close to the same time, do you do it all at once or stretch it out like I did?
