Look at Me, Look at Me...a Leading Lady

Hi!

My internet connection and/or Blogger may be driving me crazy(!), but I will get this post up.  I am sooo tempted to drag my whole computer to a different room where the connection is hard-wired.  With that out of my system, let's get back to the real purpose of the post.  I'm finally sharing the next letter in my ABC polish challenge, which is letter "L."  In real life, I'm a whole lot farther ahead in the challenge.
For my base polish, I did 2 coats of Nicole by OPI Look at Me, Look at Me over base coat, no top coat.
Look at Me, Look at me is a pretty silver shimmer with magenta and teal shimmers.  I believe this pretty came out last year (Target exclusive for Spring 2012).  Once dry, I noticed that this dried feeling like a textured polish - similar to the OPI Liquid Sands that don't have the chunky glitter, or some of the Nicole by OPI Gumdrops line.  In fact, I ended up moving this bottle to the drawer that houses my textured polishes.  Unfortunately, this did not have a very good wear time, as it started to chip off within a day (maybe day and a half).

I knew that I wanted to add some extra interest to Look at Me, and I wanted to do it with Essie's Leading Lady.  The question was, what kind of design.  I wanted something different from the diagonal color-blocking that I've been doing a lot of, and I didn't feel like funky french tips.  So I was looking around my office and spotted the packaging for a duo pack I had just bought recently (pictured down below) and decided to try my hand at recreating/reinterpreting one of the example nails.
Leading Lady is a gorgeous ruby red that is filled with glowy red shimmers.  I believe I ended up using 2 coats to get it uniformly opaque over the silver.  Since I used this over the textured Look at Me, this ended up drying with a textured look as well (but used solo it is smooth).  I'm definitely going to have to use Leading Lady on its own at some point.  This pretty red came out with the Winter 2012 collection, and I think the first time I saw it, it was in a way out of my way Rite Aid and was already on clearance even though it was relatively close to being released - I remember thinking it was odd that it already had a clearance sticker.

The back of this Nicole by OPI duo gift pack is kind of what I based my design off (4th finger from the left):

So...what do you think of this design?  Do you have either of these polishes?  Do you prefer them paired up or on their own?
