Project "Finish This Stuff," part 22 - July 2013

**all items purchased by me (or received as requested samples)

Another month has come and gone so that means it's time to see proof that I do use products up out of my massive stash (a.k.a. empties).  While I'm writing this, I'm still trying to actually figure out where the month went - it just flew!  Of course, as always I'll include mini reviews of the products and whether I'd purchase/repurchase or not.

  • Acanya - prescription for acne treatment.  Let's keep this one quick - the Mister says it didn't do anything at all - I had less breakouts but was never actually clear-skinned.  I had a coupon to get this product at a significant discount for the first bottle.  Won't repurchase since this is ridiculously expensive (somewhere around $350) - heck no!!  The results weren't worth that.  I'm moving on, thank you very much.
  • BikiniZone After-Shave Gel - I forget what store I bought this from, but I've seen it at at least Walgreens and Walmart.  This stuff does work at keeping irritation minimized - it kind of numbs the area a tiny bit.  Already repurchased.

  • Random Hand & Body Lotion - sample the Mister got from work.  This stuff was thick - really thick, but I don't think it was that great.  I have no idea what brand this really is since it's been relabeled.
  • Neutrogena UltaSheer Dry-Touch Sunblock with SPF 85 - probably purchased from Walmart.  I don't remember if I used this on my face when I first got it or not - I finished the tube off by using it for my arms, chest and neck as a lotion with protection (but it was old).  Might repurchase at some point.
  • E.L.F. Moisturizing Hand Cream in Peony Petal - bought from a clearance sale last year (or earlier than that).  Not too bad, but I did have some slight irritation when using it after I shaved a couple times.  It was pretty moisturizing.  I have no idea if this is available anymore or not, but I'm trying to weed down my lotions to products less scented so I won't repurchase.

  • Bath & Body Works Antibacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Sweet Pea - one of my favorite hand soap scents from Bath & Body Works.  But I don't feel that these are really worth the cost, so I'm moving on to another brand.  Won't repurchase

  • Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing Lotion with SPF 15 - this sample was alright, but not enough SPF for my preference as well as it seemed a bit too moisturizing for my skin.  Won't purchase.
  • (black-lidded sample jar) MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream - didn't really get enough to be able to form an opinion.  In general it takes about 2 weeks for me to know if I'm going to have an issue with an eye cream clogging my pores - I only got enough for 3-4 nights.  Undecided - I might see if I can get another sample.
  • T3 Soothing Moisturizer - sample that came with a acne prescription sample.  I don't believe this is available by itself/without a prescription.  I was just using it to use it up.  Won't purchase.
  • (3) Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Peel & Reveal Revitalizing Mask samples - one was full, the other 2 were small amounts.  Definitely liked this - I could see it pulling gunk out of my pores.  I was going to purchase from the Arden counter, but then I found the older version at TJ Maxx (click here for my haul).

  • Color Workshop (I think) white shimmery eyeshadow single - came in a christmas gift a long time ago.  Not much to say other than I'm happy to have finally finished it.  Oh, yeah...the packaging broke a long time ago on the hing.  Won't repurchase (even if I could).
  • L'Oreal True Match super blendable makeup foundation in C1 alabaster.  I am so happy to finally have finished this.  This did not work for my combo-oily skin, even using a primer.  Won't repurchase.
  • Black Radiance Shine Control Primer - purchased from Walmart.  Not bad - some days it worked better than others.  I might repurchase but I want to try some other things first.

It seems this month I had a mix of things I liked, didn't liked and was undecided about.  I'm happy that I finally finished the foundation, as well as the eyeshadow since it was always leaving a mess because of being crumbled and broken packaging.  And I'm always happy to finish more skincare products, especially since it's helping me figure out what works and doesn't for my well as clearing out the clutter/old stuff.

Have you finished anything lately?  See anything in my empties that you like or not?
