Cupcakes & Castles met a Coat Azure

Hi!

It's time for letter C in the ABC polish challenge!  While I liked this combo that I came up with, I wasn't really feeling it for this time of year.  I think I would have liked it better earlier this year in the Spring.  I'll just have to keep this combo in mind for next year.

Anyway, let's see what I came up for the letter C.  I, of course, used a base of ridge-filler base coat.  Then I put on 2 coats of Julie G Cupcakes & Castles.  I didn't use top coat since I was just hanging out in front of the computer so I wasn't worried about needing to do anything before the polish dried.
Cupcakes & Castles is a sweet baby pink loaded with tiny little blue shimmers...which were tricky to get to show up in pictures.  I did my best.  This applied super easy, requiring no clean up.  There is a bit on visible nail line at 2 coats, but that didn't bother me.  Dry time was pretty good as well.  This color is available in the core line of Julie G polishes at Rite Aid.

Then I added free-hand funky French tips using Essie Coat Azure.  It took just one coat to cover the pink.  Still no topcoat but I should have since less than an hour after finishing, I got a major smudge on one nail.
I was trying so hard to capture the shimmer in both polishes - so tricky!
Coat Azure is a nice medium blue that has a nice amount of tiny shimmer, which I think is silver-y colored.  Also hard to get to show up in pictures.  I did like how Coat Azure brought out the blue shimmer in Cupcakes.  Coat Azure is from the Spring 2011 A French Affair Collection, but this is currently in the core line.
I do like this mani; I just wish I had been in the mood for a polish this light (Cupcakes).  Now I need to go figure out what I want to put on my nails for this weekend - I know it will be either an OPI (or Nicole by OPI) or Zoya since those brands have the best lasting power on me.

Would you wear this combo in the summer?  Or do you think it would be better in the Spring?
