Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust It- Influenster Product Review

**received complimentary for testing purposes

Time for another product review featuring a product I received in my Influenster VoxBox.  I'll be reviewing the hair product I received - Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust It.  I've never used a powder texturizer product before, but I have seen this type of product being used at the salon I go to as well as a few times on YouTube, so I had a basic idea of how to use it.  It's pretty simple really.
From Influenster's site:
Incredible root lift
Light-weight powder to texturize
Soft matte effect
Control & separation
Long lasting hold & texture
Versatile control effect: the more you apply the more control you get

Innovative formula with Silica is responsible for the strong matte feeling & volume which makes this product unique and a must have.

For instant root lift and volume, sprinkle small amount adding more where needed
For more texture and control, rub the powder into your hand, and apply to desired areas
Apply to dry hair
Style and texture as preferred

Finishing Tip:
Turn the head up-side-down, apply like salt & pepper, distribute into the roots for a strong and wild finish
For a stronger matte look apply product into damp hair. Rake into shape and leave to dry naturally
My thoughts:  This product really holds the volume that you can achieve when you work it in - I always stick my sunglasses on top of my head when I go inside stores and this product kept the volume going even when I repeatedly took them off and on.  It definitely refreshes my style whenever I use it.  I even got some compliments when I used it, so that's always a major plus!  I haven't tried this yet on freshly styled hair since I normally have pretty good volume at that point.  It does say you can work into damp hair and leave to dry naturally but I don't think that method would suit my hair style...

When I use it:  Since I only wash my hair about 3 times a week, I've been using this on 2nd or 3rd day hair to bring the volume back and to take away the oily look my roots can get.  This also worked great as a way to freshen up the hair style after wearing a hat for a few hours.  I have not used it in damp hair (like it says you can in the Finishing Tip section), but I don't let my hair dry naturally very often (gets too crazy looking).

How I use it:  The packages says to shake first (before taking off the lid).  The way that I apply it is I pull up sections of hair on the sides (from about the temples up) then lightly sprinkle it in.  I drop that section of hair then using my fingertips, I rub/work the product into my roots.  I keep repeating this as needed, but I don't apply any right on top of my part - just the surrounding sections.  After it looks nice and wild, I smooth it into the style I want and there it stays.  I have to say, I really enjoy using this product.  But you do have to keep in mind that the more product you sprinkle in, the "stiffer" your roots will feel and the bigger your hair will get.  As long as I work the product in well, I haven't noticed any white-cast like some typical dry shampoos can leave on dark hair.  As for washing this out, I do it either late in the day that I've used it or the very next day.  I normally follow the "wash, rinse, repeat" cycle for shampooing and that gets all the product out.  I have not felt the need to use a clarifying shampoo immediately after using this product.

Volume and texture are back (especially noticeable on the shorter side)!
Looks like I came from the salon!

So will I purchase this product?  I really did enjoy using this so yes, I most likely will purchase this if/when this bottle runs out.  I've used this several times and a little goes a long way so it will be quite a while before I would need to purchase.  The only "downside" I can see is the price - around $24 - but seeing as how long it lasts, that's not really that bad.  Plus I'm slowly coming to terms with "you have to pay for what works on you."

Check out Schwarzkopf Professional's site here for the full line of products.

What do you think of the results?  Have you used a powder texturizer before?  Which one?
