Fun with Dots using Orly Sparkling Garbage

**all items purchased by me

I've been trying to push myself lately with being more creative with nail looks but I'm not quite up to using that one nail art brush I have.  So to be creative/artistic, I've been using my dotting tools.  I combined 2 new polishes with some art and I was in love with how these looked.  I really didn't want to take them off.  And I had fun getting pictures, but somehow I didn't get any sun pictures (which I really wanted to do).  But I've still got more than the usual number of pictures for your viewing pleasure.

I used my usual ridge filler base coat.  Then I used Sinful Colors Pistache #1033, which is a newer/limited edition polish.  I really wish I would have taken some notes since I can't remember if this was 1 or 2 coats...but I want to say it was just 1.  I'm pretty sure I used China Glaze Fast Forward since I knew I was going to be doing some layering and I didn't want to wait long.
Pistache is a nice light green - I'd say it is similar to the color of a pistachio...especially pistachio pudding. yum.  It went on very easily, no problems with streakiness.  This came out in the Buff to Bright collection.  I bought mine in March from Rite Aid - it might still be available.

And now for the fun artsy part.  I had fun with Orly Sparkling Garbage, also limited edition.  I did 1 full coat on my pinkie, middle and index fingers then used my largest dotting tool and did 5 big dots on each ring finger and my thumbs.  I used another coat of China Glaze Fast Forward to get the dots smoothed out.  I didn't notice any dulling of the holo effect.

Sparkling Garbage is a beautiful topper loaded with holographic and teal micro sparkles.  It leaves my favorite holo-effect: scattered.  It would take quite a few coats to build it up to opacity, but I knew from when I first saw it that it would need to go over something.  Sparkling Garbage is from the new Mash Up collection; it may or may not be still available at Sally's - I bought mine towards the beginning of May.

Look at that holo goodness!

These 2 polishes just jumped out at me that they would look perfect together.  Side note- this post is really making me want to do my nails but I'm in the middle of my wear-test for the Broadway imPRESS nails I received (for free) and showed in my Influenster VoxBox post.  My creativity has to be put on hold for a bit longer....

Did you get either of these?  What would you pair Sparkling Garbage over?
