Give Me Liberty!...PixieDust, that is.

Hope everyone enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend (if you're in the U.S., of course - otherwise, hope you enjoyed your weekend)!  Today might have been the unofficial start of summer, but it sure didn't feel like it only got into the mid-60's so I've been in my sweatshirt and socks instead of a tee and sandals.  And we currently have the furnace running.  How messed up is that for the end of May?!

Anyway, I thought I'd share what I wore on my nails for the actual Memorial Day.  Given as how the holiday is in remembrance of those who fought for our basic freedoms and liberties, I thought I'd wear an appropriately named polish - Liberty from Zoya.  I also kept it basic since we didn't have any plans.

I have on a base of both Seche Recondition and Pro FX Fiberized Ridge Filler.  On Sunday I was wearing the treatment (Recondition) since I had just removed a patch from my thumb, so I figured I might as well put my base coat on over that since I wanted to wear Liberty and had read that it's a bit of a stainer.

So this is 2 coats of Zoya Liberty over my combination base coat.  No top coat.  As of writing this post, I still have Liberty on so I can't say whether the base coat combination has prevented staining or not.  I'm hoping for the best.
Fairly color accurate
My fingers look funny colored, but it really shows off the bright blue shimmer
I was rearranging my fingers, but I like the way the shot shows of the glowing blue shimmers
Zoya Liberty is from the Summer release of PixieDust polishes.  Liberty is a pretty medium-dark blue with brighter blue shimmer sprinkled throughout that makes it look like it's glowing depending on the light.  Either I put on extra-thick coats or Liberty is a bit smoother to the feel than the PixieDusts that came out in the original release.  It's still textured, it's just smoother.  I hope all that made sense.  I did feel that Liberty dried slower than the last textured polish I wore, which was from OPI; but again, that could be because I might have used thicker-than-usual coats.
