Zoya Yara with Elves Bells

Hi!

I was trying to decide what I wanted to post today and decided on a nail look...even though I haven't had any polish on my nails for a couple of days.  This can help me miss my pretty nails less.  Scrubbing/deep cleaning the stove and other small kitchen appliances makes polishing the nails pointless.  I've got one more section to do, then it's back to actually doing my nails(!).

If I'd been on top of things last week, I would have had this particular nail look up then since it's a green and gold look.  But the pictures landed in the wrong folder on the computer and got misplaced for a bit.  So I'll share it now.  I really liked the way this mani came together and at the time I had it on I was really in the mood for a good olive/army green.  And I knew just the polish to get that!

So I did 2 coats of Zoya Yara over top of my usual Bridge the Ridge base coat.  I don't remember right now if I used a quick dry top coat, but I probably did - either Out the Door or China Glaze Fast Forward.
Yara is a gorgeous olive/army green with a fine aged golden shimmer running through that shows nicely in pretty much any lighting condition.  The formula was a bit on the thick side but still went on easily.
Then I added a coat of Finger Paints Elves Bells on the ring fingers and thumbs to complement the gold shimmer running through Yara.  I think I did add another layer of top coat over top of Elves Bells just to give a bit of protection.
Elves Bells is a tarnished gold fine glitter top coat with some medium sized holographic hex glitters thrown in for fun.  One coat was perfect for the look I wanted, but I think this would be able to be built up to opacity with 2 coats (maybe 3 if the coats are thin).  Elves Bells applied nicely with no need to dab on extra hex glitters.  Elves Bells is a limited edition polish that came out for the 2012 holiday release.

I loved the way that Elves Bells pulled the look together with the extra gold shimmers and sparkles enhancing Zoya Yara's fine aged gold shimmer.  I'd say these 2 polishes were made for each other (at least in my book).

Do you have enough variety of nail polish that no matter what color you are craving, you have at least one option?
