New Skincare...and Other Pretties...Haul!

Hi!

So today's post is about the new skincare items (and some miscellaneous items) I picked up the other day.  What caused me to suddenly crave new items?  My skin has changed - drastically - in a matter of days.  The last week of December I was using a soap containing goats' milk and honey (and some other stuff) and after about a week, my skin started feeling way too dry immediately after cleansing and for quite a while after (an hour or more later).  So I switched to my Cetaphil cleanser for normal to oily skin that promises to not overdry...but it did, painfully so.  Then I had remembered reading in the January issue of Self magazine that sometimes dry skin can lead to breakouts and recommended a treatment mask from Burt's Bees to help....and I went from there.

I went to Rite Aid (where I had some +Up rewards about to expire, as well as a Physicians' Formula coupon about to expire) and picked up a couple things:
Physicians' Formula Super BB All-in-1 Beauty Balm Cream in Light/Medium
Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser with Clary Sage
Packaging/claims to the Physicians' Formula BB cream
I hope this will be light enough for me! But between the +Up, the Physicians' Formula Rite Aid coupon, the coupon attached to the product (and my 20% off for reaching Gold status last year), I basically got this for free...so even if it's too dark right now, it might work better for summer when everyone supposedly gets darker.

I've used this a couple of times already, and I'm definitely liking it so far.  I never would have imagined I would be reaching for hydrating products, but for right now, I am.  And this smells so good! like a cup of chamomile tea with a little citrus splash!  The scent does hang around for a while (1/2 hour or so), but I don't think it's obnoxious or anything.

But no mask.  :-(  So I went on my way doing the other running I had to do and wound up at a different Walmart that I normally go to.  This one had a larger area in the beauty section set aside for all natural beauty products.  I found it!  I got my mask!  Expensive little thing (for what I normally pay for skincare), but I've decided that I really need to put in the time, effort and money to try to get my skin back in shape.  It was almost $18(!).  I got some other things, too (of course).
Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Treatment Mask with Clary Sage
vitamins (chewable vitamin C & raspberry ketones)

Hard Candy Moon Glow, and smart gloves - yes, they really do work if you're curious
This is the mask that Self magazine mentioned in the January 2013 issue.
I used it last night, and it will take some getting used to since there is no rinsing with it - apply, let sit, tissue off and rub in remaining product. Definitely a night time use - leaves my skin tacky/sticky feeling - and the instructions recommend 2-3 times a week.  I have never, ever used a product that was supposed to be tissued off then rubbed in.
Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles
Nicole by OPI Inner Sparkle (new Selena Gomez collection, which is turning into quite the hunt for me)
Hard Candy Moon Glow 288 Luminizing
This has been on my "to try" list for quite a while, and just recently on Facebook it was posted that this is one of the many products being discontinued in the coming weeks so I knew I had to get it.  I swatched it on my hand and it's so pretty!

I have to say that after using the Burt's Bees products a couple times (the mask just once), my skin is slowly getting more comfortable again.  Now the only thing missing from my skin care is a new sunscreen.  My Aveeno is on it's last legs (and the last time I used it, it wasn't super comfy when I put it on) and all my other ones are older Neutrogena ones (which I'm wary of for my face since by the time I finished my last Neutrogena UltraSheer it was stinging for about 5-10 minutes after applying, not expired or anything).

Have you tried either of the Burt's Bees Intense Hydrating products, or anything else from that particular line? How about anything else I purchased?  Opinions on anything?

    1. Hi Jennifer! I used a little of it yesterday for a touch of highlighting on my cheekbones and didn't have any problem. Is there a particular ingredient in it you're wary of?
