Recently I took a little drive (like about an hour) and went to Ulta for the first time. There was a lot of stuff there to look at, but they were also out of a lot of the drugstore items. I did my best to practice restraint, but I did manage to find a few things in the makeup and hair category.
First up is the one product that I knew was supposed to be available there (and I really wanted it):
Straight Sexy Hair Smooth & Protect Flat Iron Hairspray
I first saw this product being recommended by MissJenFABULOUS on YouTube in her November Favorites video and knew that I wanted to check it out. I have to say that I've already used this a couple of times and I'm in love! It sprays out as an aerosol with a super fine mist and doesn't leave my hair feeling wet in spots like pump/trigger bottles sometimes do. If you read my recent post on hair issues, you saw that my hair stylist actually recommend I switch to an aerosol product and I'm so happy I took her advice. This is just a little bit more expensive than the Paul Mitchell Hot Off the Press, but it's less than $1 difference.
As for makeup, I picked up 3 loose pigments by Essence from the Twilight collection. I got one of each color that was left. By the way, I'm not a Twilight fan as I've never seen it... I just want to try to use pigments...
This is what was left of the display when I saw it.
04 Edward's Love, 01 Jacob's Protection, 02 Alice Had a Vision-Again
Can't wait to play with these!
The other thing I found for makeup was actually as I was headed to the checkout. I spotted a concealer in a little tube that piqued my interest so I went back to where the display for the full-sized items were and tested it some and I was pretty impressed with the coverage. This was the only tube left in Light so I snatched it up. Can't wait to actually use this one, but first I want to try to finish up some of my other concealers...if I can wait that long.
Laura Geller Real Deal Concealer in Light
I probably won't be going to Ulta a whole lot since it is out of my way to go there (clearly) and there isn't much there that I would be interested in that I can't find elsewhere...except for NYX, Essence and the Straight Sexy Hair.
****EDIT 4/24/2013: I can purchase the Straight Sexy Hair locally from the beauty supply store.****
What brands do you pick up from Ulta when you go there?
