Today I'm going to share a quick review post on one of the products I received in my Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox.
Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin for Dark Hair
The Spin Pin does the work of 20 bobby pins! Easily achieve chic updo styles; simply twirl your hair up and spin the Spin Pins in for a perfect top knot, undone bun and side bun!
1. Gather your hair at the nape of your neck (no ponytail holder needed)
2. Twist your hair into a tight bun and tuck in the ends
3. Spin one pin in from the top and the other from the base, taking care not to interlock pins.
They retail for anywhere from around $5.90 to $7.30, depending on which store you visit.
To be honest, I wasn't that excited to see these in my box...these would have been perfect, oh...about 4 years ago back when I had long hair. But now...ummm how am I supposed to review something that has in it's instructions, gather hair into a ponytail and twist into a bun? I tried...
I did attempt to put one in my hair as a little top bun a couple of times while it was wet, but that did not work out at all. My hair is cut into too many different lengths. The little section that did stay in the bun felt like it would stay, so I feel like this is a good product for someone with longer hair (and probably not cut asymmetrically). The positive that I noted is that I did receive it for dark hair, so it would blend in with my dark red hair.
IF I ever grow my hair out, I think I would really like them. This would make a bun a whole lot easier to accomplish and you wouldn't have to worry about bobby pins sliding out/showing. I think the price is pretty fair since there is 2 in the pack. It's available for both dark hair (which I received) and light hair.
Final thought: While I can't (attractively) use the Spin Pin, I think that it is a good product from the tiny section I got to stay in.
If you've used these before, how well did it work out for you? I'm curious....let me know...
I was sent these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster in exchange for reviews and the completion of related surveys.
