Review: Olay Foaming Face Wash

Today, I have a initial reaction/review.  The product is Olay Foaming Face Wash for Combination/Oily Skin.
Olay Foaming Face Wash, Combo/Oily
Product claims:
  • washes away impurities
  • leaves skin feeling fresh
  • deep cleans
  • thoroughly removes dirt, oil and makeup
  • does not over-dry
I bought this product when I was running low on a different cleanser, so I put it away until the old was used up.  I have now gotten this out to use as my in-shower face wash.  I have used this product 3-4 times now and have already formed an opinion on it.

It does do what it claims as to washing away dirt, oil and makeup and deep cleans.  I suppose that also includes "impurities," whatever that means.  BUT, for my skin (sensitive/oily-combo/acne-prone), it does not live up to its claim as to "without over-drying."  The first couple of times, my skin felt clean but tight.  That is not a good thing for skin.  Last night, however, was the night that I really decided on if I like this or not.  Last night, my skin literally started peeling around my nose and chin.  That, my friends, is over-drying.  I do not like this product.  I can't even imagine what this would do to my face if I used it morning and night like the directions say.

Since I bought this months ago (so no return is possible), I will probably continue to use this once in a while in the shower...unless my face is already feeling dry...then I will use something else at the sink right after the shower.  However, if I get too sick of my face being dry/peeling, I will tell the Mister to use it up.

Keep in mind, everyone's skin is different and this is just how my skin reacted to it.  Will I buy it again??  That is a firm NO!

Do you keep using a product you don't really like just because you bought it or do you give it to someone else?
