Miscellaneous Monday...Polish Storage Idea?

This Miscellaneous Monday actually relates to last Monday's post where I was talking a little bit about how I am constantly rearranging my polishes.

While I was at Jo Ann Fabrics last weekend trying to get inspiration, I saw something that immediately jumped out at me as a possibility for storage for my ever-growing polish collection:

Overall it measures: 18 inches high, 12 1/8 inches wide, 9 1/2 inches deep

Drawers measure: 4 1/2 inches high, 11 1/2 inches wide, 9 1/4 inches deep

This is priced at $29.99 for each 3-drawer unit.  I do receive a lot of email and regular mail coupons for as much as 40% off a regular priced item....and I would probably want to turn the drawers around and put handles on instead of using the cut-out part (and drawer knobs are not cheap).

However, I would need to purchase several units and it seems to me that each drawer wouldn't fit a high number like the option other bloggers have from Michael's craft store or the Ikea Helmer.  Looking at the actual Ikea model, it is definitely more expensive to purchase this wooden unit since I would need 2 to equal the same number of drawers, but I think that I would still have less space in this little Crate Drawer unit since the drawers themselves look smaller.

I haven't given up yet on this idea yet, though...I was with my mom when I spotted this and she suggested using pictures of this as a template and having my dad build a custom-sized one.  That would mean that I could have the unit measure just about however I wanted to in order to fit as much as I wanted.  I could even have another one made at a later date if needed.  And since he is such a "wood pack-rat", there would be no to minimal cost (the main expense would be drawer knobs); the only issue would be getting him to make the time.

I could not find this on Jo Ann's website.
