A Ladylike mani

Today, I have a mani that I wore to a recent baby shower.

  • 1 coat Pro FX Fiberized Ridge Filler base coat
  • 2 coats Essie Ladyluck #866 (Fall 2011 Carry On collection)
  • 1 coat top coat
  • 1 coat Revlon Starry Pink on the ring fingers

The first time I wore Essie's Ladyluck, I wasn't happy with how it looked and couldn't wait to get it off.  However, this time I liked it better.  I believe the first try was with it completely plain, and for me, I need some kind of interest to at least one nail, whether shimmer, glitter, a stamp, a different finish, etc...

Ladylike is a dusty mauve pink cream finish polish.  It looks better when my hands aren't so dry and red, otherwise it might not be the best with my skin tone.  By pairing it with Starry Pink, it brought some interest and life to my nails, and yet was subtle enough to not offend any extremely conservative relatives.

Ladylike is a limited edition polish so it might not be in stores anymore.
Starry Pink is now in Revlon's core line under the name Popular (around $4).

Do you have any polishes that look better to you when paired with another?
